Where to stay?

The British Virgin Islands covers quite a large area and when planning your trip it is hard to decide where to stay. The North Sound is one of the most beautiful natural harbors in the world offering a wide variety of activities and protection from almost any weather. There is a whole lot of places to stay out so let us give you a brief introduction of our favorites.

Moorings at BEYC

Of course being located at Bitter End Yacht Club, we are a little bias and see it as the best option to stay. It is in the most convenient location and by far one of the most amazing places in the world. However, if you want to dive with us, you don’t have to stay at Bitter End Yacht Club. There are plenty of other options out there to accomodate various needs.

Bitter End Yacht Club is the preferred choice as we are located right on property. You can just roll out of bed and meet us at the dock in time to catch our morning dive. Who would not want to stay in this beautiful resort? Cozy, beautiful cabins on the hill, overlooking the Eustatia Sound, as much watersport activities as you can dream of and amazing meals such as Mrs. Bains Pumpkin Soup or the West Indian beach BBQ. Hobie’s, laser’s, C420’s, Rhodes 19, hiking, stand up paddleboards, kayaks, kite boarding, snorkel excursions, full day excursions, sunset sails, star gazing… A true paradise for both adults and kids, do we need to say more?

Just next door to us, with a convenient ferry to drop you on our dock for your dives is Saba Rock. This small island has about 8 rooms which have been newly renovated. Being that it is the best place for happy hour in the North Sound always helps as well. Enjoy your cocktail on the back deck or stay at the bar to see the Tarpon feeding.

Across the way you will find Leverick Bay, with beautiful rental properties such as Coconut Grove. Just stroll down to the dock and we will pick you up at the main dock of the Leverick Bay marina on the ride out to our dive sites. Leverick Bay offers a restaurant, bar with unique pirate shows and the famous Moko Jumbies, boutiques, spa and Pusser’s store.

Visiting the North Sound by boat is always an option. Whether it is your boat or a chartered boat. Just pick up a mooring at any of the above locations and we can either meet at our dock or meet you along the way. Different charter companies such as Moorings or Marine Max out of Tortola offer bareboat and crewed charters. For a more luxury, personalized approach, charter one of the stunning luxury yachts like the amazing catamaran Miss Kirsty. Or why not start in St Thomas, USVI, which is a convenient arrival base and look up Paradise Yacht Management.

Of course there are a ton more options out there, from places in Nail Bay or Spanish Town, Virgin Gorda, to anywhere on Tortola, Cooper Island, Peter Island or Jost Van Dyke. There is just so much out there and it really depends on what you prefer; land or water, fast or slow pace, catered or not…

Whatever option you pick, wherever you end up staying, you are guaranteed to have a trip of a life time! What more can you want under the sun and under the water on vacation…?16 March 13 14 - S -4663.jpg
